Young people from Pool Academy have been working with Seamas Carey to create a song inspired by the work of his grandfather, the artist Francis Hewlett. Francis was Head of Painting at Falmouth School of Art from 1958 until 1981. A conscientious objector, teacher and visionary his extensive body of work, includes portraits, still life, landscapes and large ceramic sculpture. Students selected the painting Ahab: Tossing and Turning from the Cornwall Council Schools Art Collection. Other works, including a large pair of ceramic underpants, have been loaned from The Falmouth Art Gallery. Reflecting on work in the show, Alfred Arnott, Year 7, said
